Dr. Okwudiri Ekwe is a Lecturer, at the Department of Mass Communication, Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa, Edo State Nigeria. Dr. Ekwe has taught in the University for five years; first at Renaissance University Agbani, Enugu State.
Dr. Ekwe started his primary education at the prestigious St. James Nursery/Primary School Lafia in the present day Nasarawa State. He completed his secondary education at Government College Obi, Nasarawa State. In 2002, he proceeded to Plateau State Polytechnic, Jos campus to study Legal Studies. In 2003, Dr. Ekwe got admission to study Mass Communication at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Enugu and graduated top on the class in 2007.
After his National Service in Jigawa State in 2009, he gained admission into the famous Jackson Building, University of Nigeria Nsukka for a Master Degree programme in Mass Communication. In 2013, he was announced the best graduating student in his Master class.
His quest for an apex Degree brought him back to Jackson Building for a Doctorate Degree. Dr. Ekwe again graduated as the best Ph.D student of the Department in four years with an Alpha grade.
Dr. Ekwe specialises in Media research and Public Health Communication. With over twenty articles in local and international academic journals, Ekwe has contributed immensely to media and communication research. His contributions in local and international conferences are admirable.
Giving his expertise in media research and Public Health Communication, he was acquired by the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) in 2016 to play a key role in community health research in Enugu, Imo, Abia, Anambra, Cross River and Benue states. He also served as the News Editor of New World FM, Dutse, Jigawa State for two years.
Dr. Ekwe is also a consultant with Centre for Information and Communication Research (CICOR), Nigeria as a Senior Research Fellow. Through this centre, Ekwe has participated in the design and execution of over 45 research activities.
Ekwe also serves as a Production and Associate Editor of two reputable journals, International Journal of Media Security and Development and ESUT Journal of Media Studies .
Okwudiri is a member of four professional bodies: Centre for Information and Communication Research (CICOR), African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), International Association of Media and Communication Research (USA) and European Institute for Research and Development (UK).
He is happily married to Mrs. Clara Ogbebor Ekwe who teaches at the Department of Chemical Sciences, Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa
