About

Prof Jeremiah Uwaifor Idialu was born at Iruekpen-Ekpoma in Esan-West Local Government Area of Edo State on 2ndJanuary, 1959. He had his primary School Education in St. Mary’s Catholic primary School (now Ogbomoide Primary School), Irukpen-Ekpoma from January 1967 to December 1972, secondary education at Irukpen Grammar School, Irukpen-Ekpoma from 1973 1978, higher education first at Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi from 1979 to 1983, then University of Benin, Benin City from 1988 to 1990 and Delta State University, Abraka from 2002 to 2010.

Prof Idialu obtained his primary school certificate at Merit grade in 1972; the West Africa School Certificate at Division One in 1978; the National Diploma in 1981 and Higher National Diploma  at Good grade in Accountancy in 1983; Master in Business Administration (MBA) 1990 and Ph. D in Business Management in 2010.

Prof Idialu is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Member, Nigeria Institute of Management and a member of the Nigeria Accounting Association (NAA).

Prof Idialu has had varied experienced between 1983 and date. He did his National Youth Service at the Kwara State Water Corporation between 1983 and 1984. He got employed at the Bendel State University, Ekpoma which later was named Edo State University, Ekpoma and subsequently Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma as Senior Accountant on 20th August 1984. He rose through the rank to become Chief Accountant in 1991. He was also an Acting Deputy Bursar and Head of Campus Bursary at the Abraka Campus (Now Delta State University, Abraka) between 1990 and 1992.

Prof Jeremiah U. Idialu became a Lecturer in January 1993 when he was appointed Lecturer1 at the Department of Accounting and Finance (Later Department of Accounting) at the Edo State University, Ekpoma. He has since been Senior Lecturer, Reader and finally promoted Professor in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in 2013.

Prof Idialu moved from Ambrose Alli University in Match 2016 to join the services of Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa in Edo state, Nigeria, a faith based private University.

During Pof Idialu’s academic life, he has been a teacher, researcher and community builder. He has taught courses across 100 Level to 400Level. He has also taught Postgraduate Courses. He has supervised projects at the undergraduate level and project /thesis at Master level.

Prof Idialu has engaged in research and publication resulting in publications in reputable journals at both local and International Level. He has also attended conferences, seminars and workshops at both local and International levels wherehe was either a participant or a paper presenter.

He was at various times Acting and Substantive Head of Department, and Acting and Substantive Director at both Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma and Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa. He is currently the Dean of the College of Management and Social Sciences at Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa.

Among Prof Idialu`sCommunity services is his chairmanship of an Ad-hoc committee on Assets, Liabilities and A three-Year  Developmental projects  set-up by the elected Executive Chairman, Esan - West Local Government, Ekpoma, Edo State, from 4th January to 5th February 2008. Other public services are as stated below.

He has contributed to the growth of the Cooperative Society at the Ambrose Alli University as the president for six Years, the AAU Lecturers’ Welfare Association as Chairman for over ten years.

Prof Idialu initiated the idea of founding an Investment Club called Acorn Club in Ekpoma in 2004 and it is growing from strength from year to year.

Prof Idialu is a Christian and has contributed his services to the upliftment of the Church (the Catholic Church) at various levels. He served as Chairman of Adult Harvest Organizing Committee for two years. He was a member of the fund-raising Committee for the building of the Chancery at Mary the Queen Catholic Church, Ekpoma. He was also a Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee of Mary the Queen Catholic Church, Ekpoma for many years and a Member of the Catholic Diocese of Finance Committee from inception to date. In addition he is a member of the Catholic Diocese of Uromi Education Committee.

Prof Idialu is a Knight of the Order of the Knights of Saint Mulumba, Nigeria where he served as the Financial Secretary of Ishan Subordinate Council, the pioneer Grand Knight of Ekpoma subordinate Council, Supreme Auditor (National) and Chairman of the Death Benefit Trust Funds (Nationwide).

Prof Idialu is married to Prof (Mrs.) Ethel E. Idialu of the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, Faculty of Education, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and he is blessed with four children.
